Your Mirrors Reflect You
by Florence and Stan Segal

Bath and vanity mirrors are usually the first thing that your guests see in the morning and the last thing that they see at night when they get ready to retire. The quality of your mirrors and housekeeping reflect your regard and appreciation of your guests.

In order to keep your mirrors looking new and attractive it is recommended that the following maintenance procedures be followed:
Always use a good mirror cleaner without ammonia. Spray the cleaner on a clean cloth or towel, and not the mirror, and then clean the mirror. In case there is a harsh chemical in the cleaner, it won’t run down to the bottom of the mirror where it has a tendency to oxidize, or turn black. .

All mirrors at some point in time will oxidize, some to a greater degree than others. Oxidation development depends mostly upon the corrosive and humidity content of the atmosphere as well as the fabrication technique of the mirror installer. The fabrication of mirrors is not performed in a clinically sanitized environment; therefore, no guarantee can be given that mirrors will not develop BLACK EDGE.

Most mirrors that have developed black edge are usually still very acceptable except for the deteriorated edges. The MirrEdge™ system will save the costly replacement of your mirrors, along with not having the need to put these rooms out of service to schedule the mirror replacement

Beveled Acrylic Mirror Strips do not utilize silver nitrate as its reflective surface and copper sulfate backing, as do standard mirrors, both of which have a predisposition to oxidize. The 5 woodgrain MirrEdge™ finishes are available through major distriubutors along with matching corner plates that make installation virtually effortless with very little downtime to your rooms.
